“Miss Aklan’s Jona Sweett national costume is inspired by the Ati-atihan festival participants who paint their bodies black with charcoal,” lahad nito sa Facebook.
Ang headdress naman ay sumisimbolo sa Ati hut, “The headdress symbolizes the indigenous Ati hut, with its round gable roof that is usually built near a water oasis. The graceful dips and sways of the beaded tussles bring to mind the natural windscreens of these huts, which allow ventilation during the temperate seasons.”
“Using 100% piña fabric adorned with ornamental patterns using the callado technique—known for its intricate hand-threading work style—is laborious and time-consuming,” saad pa sa post.

“Aklan Piña cloth, the Queen of Philippine fabric, in raiment fit for a queen. 👑 Thank you Aklanon designers and weavers ❤️,” ani Sweett.
